Hey everyone.
I was wondering if any one might be able to help with this issue I've been having.
I use an SL4 Box on turntables on a MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013), 2.6 GHz Intel Core i5 processor, 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3.
For some time I've been experiencing the following. A noise that, if I could best describe it, sounds kind of like electrical feedback. Almost like it sounds when you adjust the latency while a song is playing.
What would happen is that sometimes, either after just getting started, or sometimes hours into my set, the music would cut out for a good 2 or 3 seconds, which, as you know, is horrible for a dance floor. That was my sign that from that point on, there would be that horrible feedback noise that lasts around 3 to 5 seconds, which would come at random and throughout the rest of the night. Occasionally restarting my computer would help, but more often than not, it didn't. I always keep an 1/8' plugged in, ready to play a song off of in case this problem happens and I need reboot.
I then read somewhere that increasing the latency in Scratch Live might help the problem. I did that. Now what happens is that it'll drop out like before, but now instead of providing that super loud electrical feedback, it glitches out. The resembles almost like when there is dust on the needle. But this happens even happens when in internal.
I've tried using different USB's and RCA's and this still happens. It also happens on different mixers.
Does any one have any idea as to what might be causing this?? It's killing me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
